Targacept to Test Alternate Depression Drug

Targacept of Winston-Salem will begin clinical trials to test a drug aimed at patients who don't respond to current treatment options for depression. Targacept should begin a Phase 1 trial of TC-5214 in the first quarter of 2008 and possibly launch into Phase 2 testing soon afterward.
