Talecris Announces 2008 Grant Program

Talecris Biotherapeutics, Inc., headquartered in Research Triangle Park, is accepting applications for its 2008 Talecris New Trials Support program (Talents), a research grant program for studies in intravenous immunoglobulin therapies.

The program will grant $1 million to support clinicians and scientists for either a one- or two-year research period and includes funding for salary, overhead, and direct costs.

The deadline for submitting a letter of intent (LOI) for the 2008 cycle is Aug. 4, 2008. Upon LOI approval, investigators will receive a full application to be completed by mid-October 2008. Funding decisions and notification of award recipients will be made in late 2008 with funding beginning in 2009.

Five clinicians who represent life science institutions from around the world received 2007 Talents grants.
