San Diego-based Synteract, a fast-growing privately held contract research organization, has announced plans to expand its three-person office in Morrisville to help support its East Coast expansion.
The 12-year-old firm, which employs about 200 people, also has an office in Philadelphia. The announcement is the latest in a series of relocations and expansions leading to the Triangle's emergence as a CRO capital. Quintiles Transnational and INC Research recently announced plans to add several hundred jobs and PRA International is relocating to Raleigh from Virginia. PPD and AAIPharma have also recently announced growth plans or acquisitions.
Synteract provides a variety of clinical trial services for life science companies. The Morrisville office will focus on clinical monitoring and site management, safety surveillance and project management.
