The North Carolina Biotechnology Center's Library and Information Services works to provide the broadest level of access to useful information tools for the biosciences community in North Carolina.
To meet this goal the Biotechnology Center's Library Service is coordinating a consortium to provide desktop access to Elsevier B.V.'s Corporate Edition of ScienceDirect full-text scientific journals. This will be the third year of the consortium, which currently includes 175 users from 20 different North Carolina companies.
This unlimited-use subscription at the broadest level of access comes at the remarkably advantageous price of $1,000 a year per individual, with a minimum of three subscribers per company. Since the usual price is $50,000 per company for a minimum of 50 users, we are pleased to offer you this option since the consortium allows us to share this minimum subscription.
For the Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2008 licensing opportunity, the cost will be $1,000 per individual user license. A minimum of three user licenses per company, for an annual cost of $3,000, is required by Elsevier.
