GlaxoSmithKline will collaborate with OncoMethylome Sciences to develop DNA methylation biomarkers use in the personalization of cancer treatment with certain immunotherapeutics.
"We look forward to using our high-throughput platform to efficiently test our portfolio of methylation biomarkers on clinical samples provided by GSK Biologicals," said Dr. Jim DiGuiseppi, OncoMethylome's chief technology officer.
OncoMethylome is a molecular diagnostics company developing gene methylation tests for early detection of cancer and for personalized treatment decisions. Founded in 2003, the company is headquartered in Belgium and has offices and laboratories in Belgium, the Netherlands and Durham.
GlaxoSmithKline, which has its co-U.S. headquarters in Research Triangle Park, employs about 6,000 people in the Triangle.
