Metabolon, Inc. has launched an enhanced platform that significantly increases the speed and resolution of comprehensive biochemical profiling.
This advancement is the third generation metabolomics platform by Metabolon, which is headquartered in Research Triangle Park. The new platform is based on three separate analytical systems working together to decipher a broad range of biochemicals in complex samples such as plasma and urine.
Millions of raw data points from three data streams are automatically processed with software tools. By rapidly distinguishing biochemical signals and comparing them to a proprietary database, an expanded amount of meaningful biochemical information can be identified and quantified.
"These significant improvements in our platform represent a quantum leap in the five year evolution of our metabolomics capabilities," remarked Dr. John Ryals, president and CEO of Metabolon. "By implementing these enhancements, we can take a complex sample, such as blood, and rapidly identify hundreds of biochemicals and metabolites."
