Ethanol Catalyzes Novozymes' Expansion

Thanks to an increased demand for ethanol, Novozymes, the world's largest enzymes producer, will expand its Franklinton facility and hire as many as 60 employees, according to a published article in the (Raleigh) News and Observer.

"Ethanol is a growth machine," said Thomas Nagy, head of Novozymes in Franklinton. "As more and more ethanol plants come on stream, we need more people."

Company officials expect to begin work on the expansion, which could reach $5 million, later in 2007. The company's workforce expansion will target scientists, with positions available in marketing, sales and customer service.
