Crossin Hired to Plan North Carolina Pavilion

Michael C. Crossin, Ph.D., has joined the North Carolina Department of Commerce as the international business development manager of biotechnology and life sciences. One of his primary responsibilities will be to coordinate the North Carolina Pavilion and reception at BIO 2004, the internationals meeting and exhibition scheduled for San Fransisco June 6-9.

"We have an excellent team that we've put together to plan the North Carolina Pavilion and reception, and we have already received much interest in company and organization sponsorships," said Crossin. "In a time of continued and competitive growth in biotechnology, I'm looking forward to what I think will be the best BIO convention yet for our state."

Prior to joining the Commerce Department, Crossin was the industry manager for the detergent enzymes group at Novozymes/Novo-Nordisk North America, the world's largest producer of industrial enzymes. Proir to Novozymes, he was the national account manager for Gist-Brocades, a major Dutch biotech company. From 1981 to 1985, he was a senior research chemist at the Colgate-Palmolive Co.
