A lymphoma treatment developed by Biogen Idec has shown strong promise in a late-stage human clinical trial as a leukemia treatment.
Rituxan, combined with two chemotherapy drugs, helped improve survival in leukemia patients compared to chemotherapy alone.
The trial is the second late-stage clinical effort to demonstrate benefits of using Rituxan for leukemia patients who have had previous treatments.
