Argolyn Moves Headquarters to RTP

Argolyn Bioscience Inc., a biotechnology company located in Charleston, SC, is moving its headquarters to Research Triangle Park and expanding its management team.

Founded in May 2002 by Dr. Thomas A. Dix at the Medical University of South Carolina, Argolyn focuses on identifying peptide-based drug candidates to address medical needs including psychosis, pain, and other serious diseases and disorders.

With the move to RTP, Argolyn will add two key leaders. M. Nixon (Nick) Ellis, Ph.D. has joined the company as President and CEO and George (Barney) Koszalka, Ph.D. has become the company's Chief Development Officer.

Dr. Ellis has almost 30 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry including Burroughs Wellcome and the Wellcome Foundation, Triangle Pharmaceuticals (as President and COO) and Trimeris (as President).

Dr. Koszalka brings more than 25 years of experience including Burroughs Wellcome, Glaxo Wellcome, GlaxoSmithKline, and Trimeris.

The company will maintain its existing location in Charleston, SC, where Founder and Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Tom Dix, will continue to be located.
