Affinergy, a Duke University spinout developing a site-specific biological delivery system, has been awarded some $3 million in five federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants.
The awards to the Research Triangle Park-based firm included a Phase 2 SBIR grant for $2,053,845 from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences.
The focus of the program is to advance development and optimization of Affinergy peptide linkers to accelerate patients' natural healing processes. The other four grants were for Phase 1 programs that, in aggregate, exceed $1 million.
