The North Carolina Biotechnology Center is hosting a half-day symposium on Intellectual Property, entitled Reduction to Practice: Intellectual Property in the Life Sciences, on September 10, 2009 from 8:30 am – 1:30 pm. This symposium is designed for academic and industry scientists, entrepreneurs, technology transfer professionals and others working in the life sciences. Presentations and panel discussions will focus on the basics of IP (particularly patents), freedom-to-operate, infringement and strategic IP protection. The session will conclude with a case study presented by a local life sciences company (Advanced Liquid Logic) on its approach to crafting an extensive and meaningful IP estate.

There is no charge for attending this event; however, registration is required as space is limited. Lunch will be provided.
