Small Business Incubator Contributes to Biotechnology Growth in Asheville

Low-cost space to conduct research is just one of the things that start-up biotechnology companies need to succeed.

Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College created 30,000 square feet of that space. But it also took the company incubation process one step further and created the Small Business Incubator program. The two-year program helps small businesses expand into the surrounding community. One of those businesses plans to manufacture an algae-based alternative fuel.

Read more about the incubator in this week's In Focus.
