Teacher Workshops Add New Element to High School Classrooms

teachersThe North Carolina High School Standard Course of Study - the bible of instructional goals for teachers across the state - added biotechnology to its biology curriculum in 2003. The North Carolina Biotechnology Center offers summer workshops for teachers so they can integrate the subject into their daily lessons.

Industrial Fellowship Application Process Now Open
Academic post-doctoral students with an interest in working in industry are invited to apply for this Biotechnology Center-sponsored fellowship.

Regional Grant Deadline Approaching
The North Carolina Biotechnology Center is now accepting applications for its Regional Development Grant Program, which supports economic-development initiatives in communities statewide. The deadline for submissions is August 20.

Wet Lab Space Open at PTRP
Class A wet lab space and incubator space is available in the Piedmont Triad Research Park.

Banner Releases Migraine, Seizure Medication
High Point pharmaceutical company Banner Pharmacaps received approval from the Food and Drug Administration for its new drug application for Valproic Acid Delayed Release soft gelatin capsules.
