- ParagonDx will lead a group of five organizations to promote personalized medicine diagnostics at the annual meeting of the American Association of Clinical Chemistry next Monday through Thursday in Washington, D.C. The Morrisville-based firm expects to offer genetic tests of saliva, which determine sensitivity to the blood thinner warfarin, to more than 2,000 of the conference attendees.
- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has approved the sale of biopesticide bait developed by JABB of the Carolinas, headquartered in Pine Level, and marketed by Raleigh-based Terregena. The product is specifically for killing flies.
- The Charlotte Regional Partnership has promoted Kenny McDonald to executive vice president of economic-development services. McDonald is a member of the Biotechnology Center's Charlotte Regional Advisory Committee. The partnership also promoted Melissa Hendrick to chief financial officer.
