    Marine Blue: the New Green

The color of the year along North Carolina's coast is marine blue, thanks to a new initiative to raise awareness that being earth-friendly doesn't just include land.

MARBIONC, which is abbreviated from Marine Biotechnology in North Carolina, has launched a Go Blue initiative. Water covers about 70 percent of the earth. What lies beneath the ocean's surface hold answers for medicines, cosmetics and renewable energy. MARBIONC is at the forefront of identifing and commercializing those products here in North Carolina.

Read about the Go Blue initiative in this week's In Focus.
