Fee-for-Service Databases
Fee for service databases are not accessible without a subscription although some may offer a free, trial period. A number of university libraries provide access to some of these databases. However, for those without university ties, some local libraries provide on-site access to a few of the resources, such as the Foundation Directory.
- COS Funding Opportunities
Includes funding opportunities from all disciplines and is one of the most comprehensive databases of funding - federal, private and foundations. In order to receive a COS Funding Alert, you must be a registered user of COS. - InfoEd
InfoEd’s Sponsored Programs Information Network (SPIN) is the most widely used funding opportunity database in the world. By pulling together sponsor information in one system, SPIN dramatically cuts search times and substantially increases the likelihood of positive results. You can subscribe to the ListServ. - Foundation Directory Online
Contains more than 76,000 foundations, corporate giving programs, and grantmaking public charities, and a grants database of more than 350,000 grants - NC Libraries with Access. - Illinois Researcher Information Service (IRIS)
Enables you to search for funding opportunities through subscribing institutions or you can try IRIS for one month free by contacting them. You can also subscribe to the IRIS Funding Alert Service.
