Databases for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)

  • New Website Launched to Tell Science Stimulus Story
    ScienceWorksForUS, an initiative that highlights the scientific research and related activities made possible by the ARRA, was launched.
  • Recovery.gov - centerpiece for federal funding.
  • Ncrecovery.gov - information specific to NC. Click here for available opportunities.
  • Grants.gov - includes all federal one-time recovery funding. Over 25 federal agencies have set up their own recovery Web pages.
  • NC State University - comprehensive site that highlights these funding opportunities.
  • First Stop Guide to Stimulus Funds - allows users to search for ARRA funds by topic (e.g., education and health) and narrow results by keyword. Provides the amount of funds available, the federal agency responsible for distributing funds and how to apply.

Recovery Act Funding Announcements

  • Student Energy Internship and Fellowship Program - the State Energy Office requests proposals from accredited public and private educational institutions, local and state government agencies, and nonprofit organizations for the creation of green energy-related internship and/or fellowship programs in the energy sector that would serve the needs of talented undergraduate and graduate students in NC. The purpose of these programs would be to provide on-the-job work experiences for current or recently graduated students that would enhance their education through this experiential opportunity, assist businesses and organizations in the fulfillment of their missions, and encourage these students to consider employment in green energy-related careers in NC. Deadline: March 17, 2010.
  • Rural Business Enterprise Grant (RBEG) - to support business development in rural areas and improve the economic conditions of rural areas (average grant $99K). To request application materials, please contact your local Rural Development (RD) Office.
  • NIH Director’s Opportunity for Research in Five Thematic Areas (RC4) - to develop and implement critical research innovations in one or more of the following five thematic areas: Applying Genomics and Other High Throughput Technologies, Translating Basic Science Discoveries into New and Better Treatments, Using Science to Enable Health Care Reform, Focusing on Global Health, Reinvigorating the Biomedical Research Community. Deadline: Proposal March 15, 2010 (LOI February 15, 2010).
  • EDA American Recovery Program - help restore, replace, and expand economic activity in regions that have experienced sudden and severe economic dislocation and job loss due to corporate restructuring, and prioritize projects that will diversify the economic base and lead to a stronger, more globally competitive and resilient regional economy. Deadline: June 30, 2010.
