This project is designed to assess the toxicity in human cells of metal-based nanomaterials used for biomedical imaging applications. This is a collaborative project in which the student will synthesize the nanoparticles at WCU and then work in the National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory at the US EPA in Research Triangle Park.
