This project will provide a feeding strategy to increase the use plant-based feedstuffs replacing animal-based feedstuffs in nursery pig diets to reduce feed cost and meat safety concerns in pig farming. Keratinase and xylanase will be used to breakdown compounds in plant-based feedstuffs impairing digestion and metabolism in nursery pigs.
