Optical methods offer the unique ability to visualize, characterize, and test complex biological tissues. We propose to combine optical imaging methods developed in the Wax lab at Duke University with Becton, Dickinson and Company's (BD's) expertise in medical device production to integrate an OCT probe into the tip of a needle.
