This project is aimed at establishing a stable plant-based platform for expressing humanized glycoproteins that can be used as therapeutic proteins. Proof of concept for in planta glycosylation will be shown using the human erythropoietin gene. This project is expected to lead to an alternative and inexpensive way to produce humanized therapeutics.
