Walkers, Runners Needed for Nutrition, Exercise Study in Kannapolis

Appalachian State University’s Human Performance Laboratory on the N.C. Research Campus (NCRC) is recruiting at least 30 more male and female walkers and runners this month to determine if a 45-minute walk has the same effect on the digestion and circulation of healthful flavonoids as a 2.5-hour run.

The newly published 2016 Evidence and Opportunity: Impact of Life Sciences in North Carolina says the state now has over 650 life science companies that directly employ 63,000 people and account for 260,000 jobs overall, providing $2.2 billion in state and local tax revenues and $86 billion in total economic impact.
