Triad Facts

  • The biotechnology center has invested more than $14.9 million in grants and loans (2002-2011) in the Piedmont with over 300 awards.
  • The Piedmont-Triad has 1.6 million residents and a 1.6% annual growth rate. This number is expected to exceed 2 million by 2030.
  • The region has been granted 86 biotechnology-related patents since 2009.

Our advisory committee is made up of 24 executive level thought leaders from industry and academia focused on growing biotechnology in region. from all 12 counties. These counties include: Alamance, Caswell, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry and Yadkin.
