Randy Handwork has been employed by the North Carolina Biotechnology Center for over 14 years. His previous roles include Computer Operations Technician, Help Desk Technician and Information Technology Specialist. He is currently serving as the Information Technology Support Engineer. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Center’s network infrastructure.

Mr. Handwork spent several years in the United States Marine Corps (Ooh Rah!) in the Communications field. During his tour he developed his computer, communication and networking skills at Twenty-Nine Palms, Calif. and Camp Lejeune, N.C. While at Camp Lejeune he served with the Surveillance Reconnaissance and Intelligence Group 8th Communication Battalion; II MEF Communication Center and General Staff Section. Mr. Handwork also served several months aboard the USS Wasp. He was also selected to become part of a JTF (Joint Task Force) created by the Commandant of the Marine Corps General Charles Krulak.

Randy is a member of the Marine Corps League of Wake Forest. When he isn't working you can find him at the lake. He enjoys fishing, boating and camping with his family.
