Kim Marcom is the senior graphic designer at the Biotechnology Center. From client meetings through budgeting, she provides design, layout and final production of a wide variety of print and online materials, interior and exterior signage systems, trade show design/implementation, and production of novelty/gift items. She has worked with Corporate Communications committees to research and implement programs for novelty fulfillment and inventory maintenance, and trade show equipment procurement and implementation and other marketing and educational programs.

Marcom enjoys working with people to solve problems and coming up with quality design solutions that maintain a centralized branding system and meet customer needs and budgetary constraints.

A graphic designer with 23 years of experience, Marcom has worked in a variety of educational and non-profit organizations and has maintained a freelance design business. She has served as both a graphic designer and graphic design manager for Meredith College’s Marketing and Communications Office. She worked as a program assistant and graphic designer for North Carolina State University’s College of Textiles’ Extension Service. As a freelance designer, she has also worked with numerous small and medium-sized businesses, specializing in corporate identity systems, logo design, form, brochure and catalogue design.

Marcom is a member of American Institute of Graphic Artists (AIGA)

She earned her bachelor’s degree of science in visual design from the North Carolina State University College of Design.
