Katie Trapp

Katie Trapp is the Web Editor at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center. She is responsible for all web content and social media. You can find her online @ncbiotech.

Before joining the Center, Katie worked at North Carolina State University as a production artist and editor at the Institute for Transportation Research and Education and as a content development manager for a public relations firm in Wilmington.

Katie has a bachelor’s degree in professional writing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she was the editor-in-chief of the university newspaper, The Seahawk. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in Technology and Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

She has written for a number of print publications, including The Cary News and South Wales Evening Post. In addition to her web skills, Katie has experience and training in writing, editing and graphic design.

She is an active member of the Emerging Tar Heel Leaders, Science Communicators of North Carolina, Triangle Usability Professionals Association and Triangle Interactive Marketing Association.
