Kathy Wright

Kathy Wright has been the Regional Coordinator for the North Carolina Biotechnology Center’s western office in Asheville since January 2008. She is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support for the Center staff.
Kathy coordinates meetings of the advisory committee for biotechnology in western North Carolina, a group of 25 regional leaders dedicated to the advancement of the biotechnology industry. Kathy has also assisted in the formation and development of the Bent Creek Institute, designed to facilitate natural biotechnology commercialization and to support the expansion of the western region’s vibrant natural products and integrative medicine industries.
Before joining the Center, she and her family spent seventeen years as missionaries in Iceland where they built the first and only Baptist church in Iceland at the time. Kathy graduated with an B.S. in Management from the University of Phoenix in October 2011.
