Joseph Nixon

Joseph Nixon joined the Biotechnology Center’s Business and Technology Development group as business development director in March of 2011.
Nixon manages two of the Biotechnology Center’s loan programs for emerging biotechnology companies-- the Strategic Growth Loan program and Company Inception Loans. He also supervises the Center’s investments in angel funds and networks. He reports to Peter Ginsberg, vice president of Business and Technology Development.
Before joining North Carolina’s life sciences community as a consultant in 2010, Nixon held business development and licensing positions with Alkermes and Novartis, both in Massachusetts. He also worked in and with life sciences start-up companies at NetGenics and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
Nixon earned a B.S. in biology from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA from Harvard University.
