Deborah De

Ms. De serves as Director of Grant Process Operations within the Science and Technology Development Program. Grant Process Operations staff manage grant and loan applications for funding according to Center policies and procedures, support the applicant community with program information and proposal submission assistance, and provide funding reports. Ms. De also serves as Program Manager for the Regional Development Grants and Grantsmanship Training Grants.
Ms. De received her Bachelor’s degree in English from NC State University and a Masters degree in Liberal Studies from Duke University. Before joining the NC Biotechnology Center, she was Assistant Director for Pre-Award in the Office of Sponsored Programs and Grants Management at Radford University in Virginia. Her primary responsibilities there involved working with faculty members throughout the proposal development and submission process and creating and managing the SPGM database. She also developed and conducted grant writing workshops for the University community, a role which she continues at the Biotechnology Center, where she has developed grant writing training materials and an online grant writing presentation.
