Amber Niebauer

Amber Niebauer is the Agricultural Biotechnology (AgBiotech) Innovation Manager at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center. She is responsible for expanding the economic development potential of agriculture through biotechnology; and facilitating and creating Center programs with key partners to engage the agricultural community. She is primarily focused on creating an agbiotech asset inventory and database, facilitating technology partnering opportunities for small and large agbiotech companies, and coordinating and establishing new or enhanced Center programs.
Previously, Amber was the Corporate Development Manager at the Biotechnology Center. In that role, she was responsible for managing external relationships and resources/funding for the Center’s programs, including creation of the Gateway to Funding Resources. During the two years, Amber directed and secured approximately $4,200,000 in federal, state, and foundation support for Center programs and building expansion. Before joining the Biotechnology Center, Amber worked at a startup biotechnology company, Affinergy, and managed their federal grant submissions among many other responsibilities to help strengthen and expand the company.
Amber has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a masters in business administration with a concentration in health care management from East Carolina University. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Grants Information Network.
