Murdock Institute Adds Biomarker Researchers

Immune Tolerance Institute absorbed into Kannapolis science campus

The David H. Murdock Research Institute in Kannapolis is buying out a small research group that set up shop there in the summer of 2010 to study the human immune system.

The Murdock organization is paying $250,000 in cash and absorbing the non-profit Immune Tolerance Institute’s six employees already working at the North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis.

The Immune organization was headquartered in Menlo Park, California but established a group at the North Carolina campus to help scientists there look for biomarkers that can signal targets for therapies.

One additional ITI position will transfer to Kannapolis from California as part of the takeover.
