Forum Scopes SCYNEXIS System

Software to bring hard data to global health will get the spotlight Thursday in a breakfast forum at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center.

Frederic Bost, director of information systems for Research Triangle Park drug discovery and development company SCYNEXIS will lead the discussion with local global health organizations and the general public.

He'll talk about the company's use of its proprietary Software as a Service (SaaS) web-based platform, HEOS. SaaS platform systems help researchers in the development of new therapies for so-called neglected diseases in the developing world.

SCYNEXIS' HEOS system is a web-based drug research information software that allows researchers dispersed around the world to collaborate in the collection of data for the discovery of drugs to treat tropical diseases such as malaria, sleeping sickness, leashmaniasis and various otherwise neglected diseases.

The breakfast meeting of the Triangle Global Health Consortium will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center.
