BIO Names Kay Hagan Legislator of the Year

Senator Kay Hagan has earned praise for her work to get new potentially life-saving drugs to patients faster.
The Biotechnology Industry Organization gave Hagan one of its Legislator of the Year awards on Wednesday in Washington D.C.
“Senator Hagan has distinguished herself as a strong leader for national policy that will help our nation’s biotechnology sector thrive and benefit people everywhere," said Sam Taylor, President of the North Carolina Biosciences Organization.
"She is a proven advocate for patient care and preserving incentives for innovation.”
Hagan also won recognition from BIO in 2010 for her work on the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions committee.
