Mark Lombard
Bioscience Industrial Development Program Manager

Mark Lombard joined the North Carolina Biotechnology Center in November 2007 as the Bioscience Industrial Development Program Manager, and is a member of the newly created Statewide Operations and Economic Development Division, focused on the creation, retention, and expansion of life science jobs across North Carolina.

Prior to joining the NCBC, he was the Business Development Manager for Life Sciences in the International Trade Division of the North Carolina Department of Commerce, working closely with the NC Trade Offices in Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia. Mark brought to Commerce his 13 years of industry experience as a biochemist and molecular biologist at Pharmacia (now part of Pfizer), GlaxoSmithKline, and Amgen.

He is originally from the Midwest, and received his BS and MS degrees in Biology from Western Michigan University. Mark is presently on track to receive an MBA in BioPharma Management from North Carolina State University in May 2009.
