The Bluefields gathering on Nov. 13, 2006, was the first in a two-event series held in Carteret County and Wilmington to strengthen aquaculture in North Carolina.
Bluefields connected representatives from organizations focused on research and commercialization in all aspects of aquaculture:

- Fish farming
